As early as in 1979, when translation was still not considered a prestigious activity, the University of Granada was a pioneering university in offering studies in the field of Translation and Interpreting. At present our Faculty offers one of the widest range of languages compared to the other of faculties of Translation in Spain. It is possible to choose among four first foreign languages and nine second foreign languages. We are also leaders in student international mobility: currently we have agreements with seven Spanish universities and around a hundred foreign universities . Work placement rates for our graduates is an average of 75%.

The prestige of the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting (FTI) of the University of Granada and the excellence of this degree are nationally recognized. For many years, the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting of the UGR has taken the first place in the ranking of the 50 most solicited qualifications in Spain (50 Carreras), which is published every year in the newspaper El Mundo. It is considered, therefore, one of the best faculties of Translation and Interpreting in Spain.

The FTI has been admitted as a member of the International Permanent Conference of University Institutes of Translators and Interpreters (CIUTI). It is the first Spanish public institution to take part in the prestigious CIUTI. This is indeed a fitting reward for the more than 30 years that this Faculty has dedicated to training competitive professionals in the area of Translation and Interpreting.
