Goals

These studies are intended to teach students the following skills:
To acquire the necessary knowledge to understand the complexity of this professional activity.
To teach the student the ethical and social implications of Translation and Interpreting as a professional activity.
To put in practice what they learn, using one or more languages to work in any of the diverse areas of this field: as a general translator, linguistic and cultural mediator, liason interpreter, editorial reader, editor, copy editor, lexicographer, terminologist or language teacher.
To argue their opinions and solve problems related to the field of Translation and Interpreting.
To transmit information, ideas, problems and solutions addressed to specialized and non-specialized target audience.
To gather and interpret relevant information in order to form considered opinions about social, scientific or ethical topics.
To initiate postgraduate and other specialized studies.
To gain expertise in the use of information and communication technologies in different areas.
To encourage independent learning of new knowledge and techniques.
